Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Civic Watch iOS/iPadOS app and related support pages, operated by Solution Sidekick LLC (“we”, “us”), 832 Kings Cross Way, Raleigh, NC 27615, USA. Contact: joseph@codecreations.net.

1. The short version

We built a multiplayer FPS, not an ad network. We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party ads. We do not track you across other companies’ apps. Payments go through Apple. Online lobbies only use what you choose to share for matchmaking. Bot matches work without an account.

2. Information we may have

• Display name — the name you type for lobby listings and in-match scoreboards, visible to other players in that lobby or match.
• Party codes & lobby listings — short-lived room codes, player counts, map choice, and host reachability so others can join.
• Optional install id hash — a hashed installation credential used to authenticate lobby connections. It identifies the install to the lobby service; it is not an advertising ID.
• Gameplay in a match — positions, shots, and round results exchanged between players (or with bots offline). Online traffic is relayed in memory. We do not keep a permanent world database of your matches.
• Purchases — optional operatives and gun finishes are billed by Apple as non-consumable In-App Purchases. Apple sends the app a receipt / entitlement so it can unlock what you bought. We never see your full card number. Restore Purchases is in Settings → Profile.
• Game Center — when you sign in, Apple processes your Game Center identity, eligible leaderboard scores, and achievement progress. Sign-in is optional. The app stores progress and pending reports locally to retry interrupted submissions.
• Support email — if you write us, we keep the thread long enough to help you.
• Diagnostics — if you have Apple Analytics / crash reporting enabled, we may receive crash logs and coarse device type so we can fix bugs.
• This website — GitHub Pages may log standard request metadata (IP, user agent). We do not run tracking cookies or advertising pixels.

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not run third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
• We do not record or transmit voice. There is no microphone permission.
• We do not require a Civic Watch account to play bot matches.
• We do not use loot boxes or randomized paid rewards.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. The app is not in Apple’s Kids Category.

4. Who else sees data

• Apple — App Store, TestFlight, In-App Purchases, optional Game Center, and optional crash analytics you enable on the device.
• Other players in your match or lobby — your display name and in-match activity.
• Google Cloud — hosts the online lobby registry and gameplay relay (Cloud Run and Firestore). The lobby service may see party listings, hashed install ids, IP addresses, and diagnostic logs needed to keep rooms working. Listings expire when a host stops refreshing (about 70 seconds).
• GitHub — hosts this website (GitHub Pages).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect people from harm.

5. Retention

Lobby listings are short-lived and drop when a host stops refreshing. Gameplay relay traffic is not stored as a match recording. Infrastructure logs and support mail may remain after a match ends according to operational need. Purchase entitlements follow Apple’s records. Contact us to request deletion of information we hold.

6. Your choices

• Play offline bot matches without joining online lobbies.
• Choose a display name you are comfortable sharing with other players.
• Restore Apple-purchased operatives and gun finishes in Settings → Profile.
• Manage Game Center sign-in and privacy in iOS Settings.
• Decline local-network access in iOS Settings if you do not want LAN match discovery.
• Email joseph@codecreations.net to access, correct, or delete information we hold, or to exercise applicable privacy rights (including EEA/UK residents).

7. International visitors

The app and site are operated from the United States. If you play from another country, your information may be processed in the US (including Google Cloud in the United States).

8. California / similar US state laws

We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define “sale” or “share” for cross-context advertising. To exercise access or deletion rights, email us.

9. Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page.
